James Tate Hill was born in Charleston, West Virginia. A graduate of the creative writing programs at Hollins University and the University of North Carolina Greensboro, his fiction has appeared in Story Quarterly, Sonora Review, The Texas Review, The Laurel Review, and elsewhere.
